SHA offers all services related to capacity development in the urban sector and beyond. We have expertise in Training Needs Analysis (TNA), module and content development, pedagogical approaches for practitioners and students, course delivery in all modes, as well as impact assessment. We also design and conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) modules.
Thematically, we can design, develop and offer capacity building programs on all aspects of urban development, be it land and housing, infrastructure and services, mobility, gender and climate change. We also provide cross-cutting, sector agnostic courses, such as on working with data and building a data culture in organizations.
Swastik led the Urban Practitioners’ Programme (UPP), the capacity building function at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) for four years (2017-2020) and was a core team member from its inception in 2010. Under his leadership, the UPP was able to reach more than 7,500 public, private, academic and civil society participants from hundreds of cities in 32 states of India. He built, led and mentored a dozen-strong team and demonstrated the impact of our training programmes at scale. As programme lead, Swastik was responsible for portfolio, partner and revenue diversification and had creative control on course design, management and (in-person and online) delivery. Some of these projects are featured below.
