SHA was commissioned by JSP Foundation to develop the Detailed Project for a CSR project that aimed to build a senior living facility for the aged urban destitute people in Raigarh, Chhatisgarh. SHA provided the following support and services for the project:
- Secondary research into Indian and international best practices on senior living, especially for destitute aged people with health and mental health issues, from an operational and human resources perspective;
- Primary research (Key Informant Interviews) with experts in the field of aged care and senior living;
- Research into good, best and recommended practices in architectural design for semi-able and mentally stressed aged people;
- Development of the architectural guidelines and design brief for the facility that included a 100 beds, kitchen and dining facilities, public health and sanitation infrastructure, social and recreational facilities and primary medical care;
- Development of the phasing plan for the facility, including site services, basic infrastructure planning and hazard mitigation;
- Development of the outline budget for the non-architectural/civil requirements such as furniture, equipment and accessories for senior living; and
- Development of the operational plan for the facility, including the human resources plan, staff capacity building plan and budgetary outlay for the same.
The project entered construction phase in 2025.
