Anuttama Dasgupta is an urban development professional specializing in capacity building and urban policy. From 2016-24, she worked with the Urban Practitioners’ Programme (UPP) at the Indian Institute of Human Settlements (IIHS) which collectively designed and delivered capacity building programs for over 15,000 learners in the past 9 years. Since 2016, she has worked extensively on MoHUA’s Integrated Capacity Building Programme and designed Capacity Building frameworks, programs and content for a diverse set of organizations including MoRTH, the DoPT, DTCP – Tamil Nadu, TPVD – Maharashtra, GIZ, the NULP, CMI-xKDR, NLSIU and most recently, an ADB funded TOD study for the Bangalore Metro. Beyond facilitating urban learning, she is deeply interested in the training of trainers and during her tenure at UPP-IIHS, she led the setting up of the Capacity Development Forum (CDF) which is a knowledge repository and community of practice for CB practitioners. Her most recent publication is a guideline for using AI tools for designing SMART Learning Outcomes.

Anuttama is holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign and a B.Arch from BIT, Mesra.
