I led and managed a 5-day capacity building programme for planners and administrators of the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), Government of Tamil Nadu. The programme focused on a regional approach to land use planning for the development of urban areas in Tamil Nadu.
- 28 planners and administrators from the DTCP trained
- A manual of regional planning approaches in the context of the state of Tamil Nadu
- Significant revenue stream and potential for scaling up across the state
Through the programme, we were able to increase awareness of the value of a regional approach and the metrics for regional planning among the audience. We enhanced the capacities of departmental administrators, including project management and procurement of planning services.
